By becoming a part of the Herzog Conscientious Breeder Alliance (HCBA), most reputable breeders will find that they are already following many of the best practices we encourage. The HCBA Certification is designed to recognize and reward breeders like you—who prioritize responsible practices, health testing, and long-term support for your puppies. We believe that most conscientious breeders are already doing the right things, and through this program, you will have the opportunity to gain formal recognition for your efforts.
We want to partner with you to help reduce the chances of puppies from any program ending up in shelters, and to continue improving the welfare of dogs everywhere. We know that breeders, like yourself, want to see their dogs thrive in forever homes, and we're here to offer tools, guidance, and resources to help make that happen.

Join the Breeder Advisory Committee, where you can provide feedback on our upcoming Herzog Conscientious Breeder Alliance (HCBA) Certification Program and directory.

Become a Founding Supporter of the Herzog Conscientious Breeder Alliance. Your name will be featured on our website or promotional materials as early adopters of conscientious breeding practices with intentions to become HCBA Certified as soon as the program is launched.
