Rescues
The organizations who see the negative effects of poor breeding first hand.
Stronger Together
We understand that rescue and shelter workers see firsthand the heartbreaking consequences of poor breeding practices. It's no surprise that many in this field are deeply wary of working with anyone who supports breeders. However, eradicating breeding entirely isn’t the solution to shelter overpopulation. Doing so would leave us with accidental litters and risk losing the incredible diversity of dog breeds that so many people cherish.
Instead, we need to focus on ending poor breeding practices and teaching good breeders how to be more transparent, accountable, and conscientious. To achieve this, regulations are essential—and our biggest opponent in this fight will be the American Kennel Club (AKC), which actively works to block any proposed breeding regulations. To push these much-needed changes forward, we need the strength of as many rescue organizations as possible, united for the common goal of ending irresponsible breeding.
We’re calling on rescue workers, volunteers, and their supporters to stand with us. When the time comes, your voices will be crucial in signing witness slips through the Illinois General Assembly website to show lawmakers that we demand change. By joining forces, we can prevent thousands of dogs from entering shelters every year.
Please reach out today to see how we can partner together. It’s time to unite for the greater good—ending harmful breeding practices while building a future where conscientious breeders and rescue organizations work hand in hand to protect dogs. Together, we can create a lasting impact.

We’re launching a new approach to dog welfare: "Breeders & Rescues - Partners in Shelter Prevention." This is more than just a slogan—it’s the heart of our mission to reduce the number of dogs entering shelters and to ensure that all dogs, whether bred or rescued, have the best chance at a happy, healthy life.
